Ampiphy Music Success: Week 1

We joined The Music Success in Nine Weeks Blogging Challenge – WAVE 2 Starting Again on August 9, 2010!

The challenged is based on Ariel Hyatt’s book “Music Success in Nine Weeks”.
The book is a guide for musicians to define their brand, grow their fan-base, earn more income, and achieve success in the digital environment, whether they are new to the industry or longtime artists.

You are invited to follow us on our journey through the nine-week challenge.
And if you like to, you are very welcome to share your thoughts, tips etcetera with us.

The first week is all about setting goals and writing them down.
Our Goals For the next 12 months are

 (drum roll please)

1. Concentrate our efforts to reach out to our fans on the 5 most important social media websites.
2. Implement 1 universal “look and feel” to our existing web presences.
3. Ask as many people as possible to join our email list.
We hope to find a minimum of 500 people interested enough to subscribe to our newsletter.
4. Try to make a minimum of 250 fans follow us on Facebook
5. Finish 10 new songs
6. Record & Publish 1 album with 15 Ampiphy originals
7. Release 3 singles via CD baby
8. Find 5 gigs in the first quarter of 2011 to try out tour new material
9. Organize a 2 week mini tour in the UK in the summer of 2011

Actions we took already.
- Befriended the other participants on Facebook
- Followed the other participants on Twitter

We might as well learn from each other and help where we can.

To Do’s (Within 3 weeks from now)
- Find a universal “look and feel” that we are happy with and that we can apply on all our web pages , fryers etcetera
- Decide what our top 5 social media sites are and give them extra attention
- Use Ampiphy’s Reverbnation “email capture widget” on as many places we can get it to reach our audience.
Keeping in mind what’s in it for our fans to sign up for our free newsletter.
- Design a time-line for the goals listed under 5 to 9

A small excerpt of Ampiphy’s performance at the Summernight Rock festival in Geldrop.

Yesterday Ampiphy recorded 3 songs at Studio Moskou in Utrecht.

2 Ampiphy originals. Smells Like Fire & Red Wine and Sex. Plus 1 cover. Neil Youngs “Rocking In The Free World”.

They enjoy playing these songs live as the audience always gives a great response.

Hope to see a lot of you at their gig in Weert tomorrow. They’ll be supporting the ZZ Tops. Ampiphy will begin their 1 hour set at 16:00

Ampiphy will play at De Bosuil on Sunday 6th June. They will perform a one hour set as a supporting act to ZZ Tops.

By the way. Ampiphy played a cover of Bob Dylan’s song “Like A Rolling Stone” in Budel yesterday evening. It was the first time they played a Bob Dylan cover as a tribute to this great songwriter.

Tonight (9th May) Ampiphy will perform at The Jack in Eindhoven. Doors open at 18:00

Ampiphy recorded 3 songs in Utrecht on May 4th 2010. The set included the first time recording of an Ampiphy original “Time”. This tune was written by Ruben & Marcel Heijnsbroek.

The other songs recorded are Broken Down & Where Do We Go Now. Both Ampiphy songs are written by Vincent Le Blanc and appeared prior on Speed Demo & Lonely Road.
They where re-recorded to give both songs a “live” feel to them, thus representing the live experience you get when you visit an Ampiphy gig.
